Personal trainer Andrew Leonard is himself one of WLCT's greatest success stories.

He doesn't just help others get fitter, healthier and happier. Andrew knows what it takes to lose weight and feel great; he's been there, and got the t-shirt!

Andrew said: "I started training when I was 15 years old but because my fitness knowledge was very basic, my training was never really serious or consistent.

"Due to my weight and shape, I didn't like to take part in team sports and physical education at school. even being told I was the "wrong shape" by one of my former teachers.

"This inspired me to do something about my weight.

"I joined a local rugby team and began to train with weights. Over the space of 18 months I managed to lose around 3 stone.

"My fitness increased and I felt better about myself but due to injury I stopped playing rugby and my weight and body shape slowly went back to how I used to be again affecting my confidence. Over the next few years I tried to get back into my training but found it difficult as I wasn't motivated."

Andrew's transformation is complete. As a qualified personal trainer he's been able to help people to hit their fitness goals with personal examples of how to achieve what might originally have seemed impossible.

"Becoming healthy and active has made such a huge difference to my social, personal and work life," said Andrew.

"I have never been fitter and healthier.

"Role models need to prove to others they can do what they're asking of them.

"That's why I love nothing more than getting in the gym or doing classes and training as hard as I expect from people I work with.
